SEPTEMBER 25-29
This week.... Math- We will continue working on Topic 3 on fluently multiplying numbers. Please review multiplication facts with your child at home. The Topic 3 math assessment will be taken over 2 days, and will take place on Tuesday, October 3 and Wednesday, October 4 Spelling- New spelling lists were put in students boxes on Friday and should've been brought home. We are now on Unit 5 and they are doing a great job mastering their lists. If your student receives a 60% or lower, I will have them study over the weekend and retake their test on Monday. I do not have a way to print students' scores from their Chromebooks, but I do track their scores if you are wondering what their scores are, you may ask me. Social Studies- Students have been working hard all last week researching their Native American tribe with their partner. This week they will work on their presentation and creating their tribe artifact. I will be meeting with them on Wednesday about what they are planning to make and the materials they need. I have encouraged them to pick an artifact that doesn't require them to purchase any supplies. After all, the Native Americans couldn't go to the store they had to find all their supplies on the land. Leader in Me- This week we will continue to study Habit 2- Begin with the End in Mind. Here is a Flipgrid video that students created about what being Proactive meant to them. Being Proactive Reading- We will start reading groups this week and students will be grouped with other students that share their same reading level. Tiger Pride- We will have our first Tiger Pride assembly this Friday September 29 at 2:30PM. Parents and family members are always welcome to attend. Our assemblies will look a little different this year as we take a Leader in Me approach. Our first assembly will consist of all classes reading their class mission statements.
